Wedding Preparation TIPsy

Do you hear the wedding bells?

Being engaged means you are taking a huge step where you’ll be forever be in. Seeing and feeling that your partner is the person you want to be with for the rest of your life is SOMETHING…

Ready for the next step? It’s called WEDDING PREPARATION. Let me give you some things we learned as we prepare on our own wedding. We are no experts but hey, who knows how much help we can give, right?

We got engaged few years back, and due to the distance we have right now, we have to make time in order to talk and decide on things. What things? You’ll find some of them below:

  1. Date– This is where you really have to decide when is the RIGHT for both parties. Both families should agree to the date that you’re going to choose because this is the basis whenever you inquire for a venue, and other vendors (suppliers).
  2. Budget– VITAL, you and your partner have to decide on. This is when you’ll be a good mathematician. Hahaha. You’ll constantly checking on your budget and doing calculations if vendors’ service fees will fit in your budget. **Remember: Do not include in your calculations the amount of your guests, families, and sponsors will give on your wedding day. *_*
  3. Number of Guests– Okay, we’re getting serious. Talk to your parents, you’ll be surprise on how many people they want to include in your guest list. Try to make a draft then talk who you need to scratch (it’s a pain but you have to do it) if you’re exceeding from the number you should be inviting. Apart from the guests, you have to count the number of vendors who will enter the venue to assist you (photographers, videographers, hair & make up team etc)  **Remember: You have to check if the venue you’re getting will have enough space for the number of guest you would want to invite.
  4. Guest List– Make the list “together”. Make a initial list of your entourage, who will be what. Then finalize it after everything’s booked.
  5. Ceremony– Where are you going to do the ceremony?
    1. Do you want to do it in a church/cathedral? Then you have to start looking for one a year before your chosen date and book it. There’s a process, sorry buddies for I don’t know how they do it.
    2. Are you planning for a destination wedding? Ponder well on what you want: Garden… Beach.. Ranch.. Farm etc. Then find a licensed person to officiate your marriage.
  6. Venue (Reception)- Most of the venues right now can be customized. Consider the location where your ceremony will take place. Check the capacity of the people that can go in: Will you have enough space to move and groove or you’ll end up bumping on to each other? How far is the powder room/washroom? Is it communal or not? Is it clean? Ask for photos and check for the reviews. Do you see yourselves spending fun and memorable time there? Visit the place.
    1. Ask if they offer packages. Check and double-check the inclusions in each package:
      1. If the food and set-up are included. FOOD: Review their menus, ask if you can switch some of the dishes, or if upgrades are available. Choose your food and drink carefully. Also, don’t forget to ask if the drinks are unlimited or just one round.
      2. Chairs: Monobloc or Tiara?
      3. How about the event assistant, host/emcee? How many hours can you stay?
      4. Lights and sound system. How will it work on your wedding day. Check if you have friends or families who want to perform.
      5. Florist– this is one of the important details you have to consider for they are responsible for the entourage flowers, and possibly the set-up. Talk to him/her about the theme you want or how you want the venue and/or ceremony to look.
      6. WINE/LIQUOR- Is there a corkage for these? If so, how many bottles are free of charge? Try to negotiate. 😉
  7. Wedding Gown/ Suit or Barong/Entourage– Start looking for designs you want for the BIG DAY. You ask a designer to draw and do you gown/suit based on the location of the wedding, your body frame and of course, your budget.
  8. Photographer/Videographer– A beautiful and memorable day should be captured artistically and professionally. Find someone who you think can do that, consider your budget. **Remember: Hire a team who’s within the province or city where you will hold your wedding.

Those are just some of the things you have to really think about in preparing for THAT DAY.

It doesn’t really matter how grand or simple your wedding is, what’s important is how you rock your marriage with that person you choose to love forever.

Beach Bummin’ in Anda, Bohol

Went to visit this place and fell in love. Are you a beach bum? Then you might want to add this on your list.

Other than Tarsiers, Bohol, Philippines is also known for its stunning beaches. A known place is what they call Panglao, where beach resorts will be found. I have been to few of their beach resorts in the said location, but this post is about this place called East Coast Pacific White Sand in Anda, Bohol. My partner and I spent some time there for our anniversary. And my, such a beautiful place. We reserved few days prior, their employees are very accommodating and polite, I must say.

A room for two which is near the pool area is around P3,000. You can enjoy their swimming pools jacuzi, with breakfast for two and that wonderful view and the beach.

Here’s their restaurant. They have a good variety of dishes from breakfast to dinner.

This was our view from the restaurant. We arrived there around noon.

Tennis Court

Here are some shots from our room (below). There’s a queen-size bed, television with cable, telephone, closet, table and two chairs, and we like their bathroom (glass tube-like) with complimentary toiletries (Toothpaste, shampoo, and soap)– It’s squeaky clean! Also, we like the wooden chair which is just in front of the room. Where we chatted while sipping our coffee… enjoying our time together and the view.

That is a shot taken from our room. And yes, that’s what you’ll see when you open the door. Isn’t it beautiful?

There are two spots (areas) where you can go to take pictures or simply enjoy the view.

White sand, clear water, sunset and your labidude (partner), what else could you ask for?

They offer water activities too. This is one of the places that I love and will definitely visit again. It’s very relaxing. Not crowded.

**I have other photos but I don’t want this post to look like a photo album. *wink wink*

Banapple Pies & Cheesecakes

Blazing hot afternoon. This is the time when my mom and i decided to eat in one of the Banapple Restaurants in Manila, located in Sky Dome of SM City North Edsa. It is not that spacious, just enough for people like us decided to dine in and others to take out food. They are known for their cakes, pies and other sweets. They have a large variety of them. 😋 in one corner there are muffins and breads too which are wrapped and arranged well. All the orders are being given and paid in the counter.

We ordered baked creamy-cheese penne pasta (215php) which was served with 2 slices of yummy breads, chicken sandwich (115php) sliced into two, and a slice of blueberry cheesecake (100+php) which is by the way their best-seller. Their servings are generous for 1 person. I did like their pasta 5/5. The sandwich has more chicken in it that it made something different with the taste 4/5. Hmmm. I was dissappointed with their blueberry cheesecake given that its their best seller, 3/5. Or maybe i tasted two of the best cheesecakes for me 1. SNR and 2. Cakegarden ( this is home-baked i discovered in Tagbilaran City, Bohol)

Casa Verde

We have been talking about this even before my flight bound to Bohol. I just happened to read one of looloo’s app user review. And i am really thankful for that person. 😉 my boyfriend and i arrived in Cebu around dinner time so we just put our bags in the hotel/pension house then went to Ayala Center and begun our search in the said restaurant. Although there’s a queue, we were able to get seats since we’re just 2pax. We tried their best sellers: Sparerribs with rice and their medium rare steak with mashed potato. Their servings are big enough for one person. And we get to try their strawberry smoothie too. Their employees are friendly. I noticed that even their cakes/desserts were served in a big plate since the slices are generous. They offer different beverages from soft drinks, smoothies, beers, wines, etc. Indeed a wonderful night for me and my boyfriend.

Sweet Home Cafè

I get to taste their latte and pudding the first time i visited their shop, and i did enjoy my drink. If i remember it right their pudding is just P15 per piece, cheap right? And the drink is around P80. Their price is affordable without tarnishing the quality of their goodies and their customer service too. They also have different cakes and cup cakes plus the TWG tea, Twinnings, breads, meals like chicken, pasta and sandwiches. Their breads are freshly baked. The place is air-conditioned (first floor) the open area is on the second floor. Although i noticed some chairs and tables infront and side of the shop. Well, you choose where you want to stay. Their employees are friendly. 😉 It is squeeky clean and very relaxing. They have couches, high chairs and regular ones. Plus outlets for those who opt to charge their gadgets while having a fun conversation and sipping their coffee or munching on their sandwich or cake. 🙂 or simply enjoy their free wi-fi. 😉

The Buzzz Cafè

My man and i had dinner here last September 04, 2014. Although we went to their main restaurant located in Panglao before, it’s a first for us to finally dine in and spend some time in the restaurant in this branch, cause what we usually do is just eat ice cream and enjoy the view. Upon entering the restaurant, we saw their products: different spread, bread and a lot more for pasalubong. 😊 On one corner you’ll find their ice cream. We already tried their Ube, Pandan and Mango flavor. Really good!

That night we tried their pasta with chicken and ribs ‘n brown rice matched with lemongrass drinks. The price is P160 for each meal. While waiting for our food we were given complimentary slices of bread plus honey and pesto dip. Isn’t that nice? Their employees are friendly and attentive. There was a soft music being played. They have sofa and wooden chairs. The one that is located in Panglao offers different facilities/amenities and has a beach view, romantic and very relaxing. 😉 but they also have one in Galleria Mall (where we ate). If you’re looking for a place to eat which use and serve organics, i recommend this place.

Persona Mesa

In one of my nights in Tagbilaran, Bohol my boyfriend and i went here. The staff were busy serving and all since the restaurant is almost full. We had their special dish SPARERIBS for 200+ pesos and a seafood pasta for another 200+. The spareribs came with few veggies and a rice while the pasta have 2 wheat breads. Their food is good. The place is clean and very relaxing. They have tables and seats in an air-conditioned area, also outside who may opt to smoke or just chill. Their loo is very unique and maintained clean amidst the busy staff. They have soups, sandwiches and desserts too. Their drinks are put in a jar which i find cute. Their staff are very friendly specially the security guard. It was indeed a wonderful night.
